BOARD MEETING MINUTES

FEBRUARY 2, 2023

 

BBWA Board Members present: Howard Hart, Michael Newman, Stan Ridgeway, Margaret Corbin, Daniel Wood, Michael Della Poali and Wendell McKinnon

BBWA staff present: Mark Reblin, Laura Valentine and Vickie Webb

Also present: BBWA Attorney Mark Logan

  1. Call to order: Chairman Hart called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
  2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance: Vice Chairman McKinnon gave the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Approval of February Agenda: Chairman Hart asked for approval of the agenda.  Board Member McKinnon made a motion for approval. Board Member Ridgeway seconded the motion.  The vote was unanimous.  
  1. Approval of December Invoices:  Chairman Hart asked for approval of the December Invoices.  Board Member Ridgeway made a motion to approve, with discussion. Board Member Newman seconded the motion. Board Member Ridgeway asked GM Reblin what is our average monthly income? GM Reblin advised about $150,000, Reblin also noted we have several paid invoices that will be reimbursed. The vote was unanimous.  

V. Approval of December Financials: Board Member McKinnon made a motion to approve the December Financials.  Board Member Corbin seconded the motion with discussion. Board Member Della Poali asked who is the water department/ board accountable to as far as financials, are we audited? Chairman Hart explained that we are audited every year. We have a CPA on call that reviews our records and makes sure we are in compliance. We are also audited by a State approved audit firm once a year. Board Member Newman also noted that it is reported to Taylor and Dixie County, BBWA is also accountable to all of its customers. Newman also stated that not only does the audit review the books but the overall health of the authority. Chairman Hart asked was everyone good with the answer? The vote was unanimous.
